Areas of application.

Vehicle and tool, uncompromisingly off-road capable.

More than just a vehicle.

The Unimog is vehicle and tool all rolled into one. Thanks to its uncompromising off-road capability, it is capable of transporting equipment, material and crew off the beaten track to the job site with ease.

Once there, it reliably delivers first-class work. The prerequisites for this are defined by multiple implement attachments, as well as interfaces and drives for fixed or interchangeable devices. The all-terrain Unimog has two different transmission power take-offs and one engine PTO. A vehicle hydraulic system to power different implements and continuous consumers is available as optional equipment. Standardised sockets provide electric power. The body mounting space can be used particularly flexibly: The possibilities range from platform bodies and box bodies to unique solutions for special requirements. Together, this provides a strong and highly mobile workshop with which work assignments can be carried out safely and reliably.

Fire and Rescue.

A very tough performer.

Fire & rescue.

Forest fires in the Mediterranean, floods on the Danube and Elbe, violent hurricanes and autumn storms all over Europe, plus hail or earthquakes: The number of natural disasters is on the increase all around the world – and with them the pressure is increasing for the special operations of fire brigades and disaster control organisations. This means that the emergency forces are facing ever greater challenges – and so are the emergency vehicles. No other vehicle offers comparable performance potential under the toughest conditions than the Unimog: on the one hand as a transport vehicle for a work team, material, tools and equipment. And on the other, on site as a fire-fighting, clearing or recovery vehicle.

Robust. Safe. Suited to the job in hand.

The Unimog is the benchmark, with its cranked and welded vehicle frame, thrust tube technology for extreme diagonal twisting of up to 600 mm, large approach, departure and ramp breakover angles, portal axles, all-wheel drive and differential locks as well as high traction and climbing capability.

A unique feature is the self-protection system. It has the ability to spray the tyres and windscreen should the vehicle come into close contact with flames. The heat protection package, which is already available ex works includes, for example, the sheathing of important cables to protect them from heat and damage.

With its operational tactical preparations – for example the round roof hatch for firefighting directly from the cab – the Unimog effectively supports emergency forces. On top of all this, the optional crewcab provides space for up to 7 firefighters.

The engine or transmission power take-off makes the Unimog the perfect vehicle for fast forest firefighting. The transmission with off-road group ensures that the vehicle can also be operated in difficult terrain or for “pump & roll” at extremely low driving speeds. The drive system is designed in such a manner as to enable fording of bodies of water with a depth of up to 80 cm (optionally 120 cm). These are further highlights: the Tirecontrol Plus central tyre inflation system with “road”, “sand” and “rough” modes and the powerful transmission with the Electronic Quick Reverse gearshift, the off-road reduction gear and the electronically automated EAS gear shift.

Electrical drives.

Four standard interfaces in the cab and on the outside allow electrical consumers to be connected or implements to be operated without the need for any cabling work. The on-board 24 V electrical system is supplied by a three-phase 150 A alternator. The parametrisable on-board electronics run via the CAN bus and therefore make it easy to change settings such as: limiting the engine speed to protect mechanically driven implements; activating the drive-away lock when the supports are deployed; or restricting the speed.

Energy.

Efficient power for the energy industry.

Energy.

Professional implement carrier, powerful transport vehicle, mobile workshop: The Mercedes-Benz Unimog covers the whole scope of functionality that an effective fleet in the energy sector needs.

Whether it’s the repair and maintenance of supply networks, open-cast mining or the exploration of new energy sources: Thanks to its exceptional off-road capability and compact design, the Unimog can operate almost anywhere. With everything needed on site. The fully welded frame, an encapsulated drivetrain and many other details ensure a long service life and exceptional robustness – this way the Unimog also meets the tough requirements of the energy industry.

This sets the Unimog apart from others: all-wheel drive with differential locks, single tyres and Tirecontrol Plus central tyre inflation system, high payloads and powerful interfaces for heavy equipment such as cranes. After all, the Unimog is a special device for special tasks.

Off-road & leisure.

For explorers.

Adventure awaits.

Whether used as an off-road capable motorhome or robust and reliable expedition vehicle, or whether it’s for hunting or rallies: Wherever the road leads, the Unimog lives up to its name with great reliability, high robustness, unique off-road capability and high payload. In addition, excellent driving and operating comfort as well as numerous optional technical modifications available ex works. Thanks to the close cooperation with the bodybuilder partners, there are almost no limits to further individual wishes.

At home where others cannot even dream of going.

Thanks to powerful, reliable engines that deliver up to 170 kW and an indestructible drive-system and chassis concept, it masters mud, scree and sand as well as snow, ice and deep river beds – even when equipped with individual attachment and body solutions.

Public service sector.

Opens new possibilities.

Municipal applications.

The all-terrain Unimog is available with equipment for municipal services. This opens up new possibilities because, thanks to being equipped with powerful dual-circuit municipal hydraulics, both the Unimog U 4023 and the U 5023 are outstandingly well-suited for use with an automatic spreader and snow plough – and are therefore predestined for municipal service yards in cities and villages that are at risk of flooding.

The Unimog with municipal equipment masters classic tasks in road maintenance and transport and easily tackles fording bodies of water up to 1.20 metres deep as well as driving on rugged, arduous terrain. This means the Unimog can provide technical help as well as rescue or recovery, for example in high water areas otherwise inaccessible to other vehicles. Last but by no means least, the Tirecontrol Plus central tyre inflation system and the high payload are of valuable service here.

Agriculture.

Working in the field with low impact on the soil. Swift on the road.

Agriculture

With all-wheel drive, robust drivetrain and extreme torsional flexibility, the all-terrain Unimog always offers a clear advantage in rough terrain: for example when working in crop protection. The ex-works automatic tyre pressure regulation system provides excellent traction and has a particularly low impact on the ground. The best preconditions for working in the field – as are its high payload and ground clearance. Finally, operational speeds of up to 89 km/h on the road ensure a fast and economically-efficient deployment in the agricultural sector.
